Comments Enabled for the Site
Feeling particularly brave today, I have tossed caution to the wind and enabled comments to my posts. I've planned to allow people to comment on my writing before, but I've just not gotten around to actually writing up the backend code for it.
I decided that I liked the way that HoloScan handled comments well enough to use their functionality for my site. Now comes the breaking in phase. Will people be responsible enough with their comments, or will these comments be abused by spammers? I turned on trackbacks for a while, and I got over 40 spammed trackbacks in a 24 hour period. I set trackbacks to be done through HoloScan, too, but they don't appear to be working quite yet. The problem isn't on my end, but HoloScan's. But since I wasn't allowing trackbacks after the spam wave, I don't think this is a major loss at this momment.
So comment away! But remember your manners.
UPDATE (3/26/2010 3:14:54 PM): And the comments are closed. HoloScan decided to kill their free comment service, and I didn't feel like paying.
